I built several of these systems and supplied them to professional photographers in the early 1990s. Used a 12 volt NiCd pack to power a multivibrator 12volt to 350 volt DC-DC convertor. This charged the four storage capacitors to provide a selectable 50, 100, 200 Watt/Second flash. Also made the aluminum quick change adjustable bracket. The ABS housings were vac formed in our kitchen.
